Electrical Remedial Works Following an EICR in Islington
Electricians 4 London Ltd recently completed a programme of electrical remedial works following an EICR inspection at a property in Islington, London.
The Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) identified a number of defects within the existing installation, including C2 observations requiring remedial action. Following approval from the client, our electricians returned to the property to rectify the identified issues and bring the electrical installation up to the required standard.

Our Solution
Consumer Unit Upgrade
A major part of the remedial work involved replacing the existing consumer unit.
The old distribution board was removed and replaced with a modern metal consumer unit incorporating Type A RCBO protection and Surge Protection (SPD).
Providing individual RCBO protection for the circuits improves safety and means that a fault on one circuit is less likely to disconnect other circuits within the property. The new installation also provides modern surge protection for connected electrical and electronic equipment.
The new consumer unit was correctly labelled, circuits were identified, and the installation was tested following completion.
Rectification of EICR C2 Observations
In addition to the consumer unit upgrade, we carried out the necessary remedial works to address the other defects identified during the EICR.
These works included:
- Removal of the existing consumer unit
- Installation of a new metal consumer unit
- Installation of Type A RCBO protection
- Installation of Surge Protection (SPD)
